The Original Cowboy Ike’s Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Jelly came about because of an experiment. Ike wanted to see if a jelly could be made from the cabernet sauvignon grapes. His first batch was ready in 2004. It was given to family and friends on special occasions and holidays. It was a huge hit and everyone loved it. All of our friends and family kept commenting on how good the jelly was and kept asking when were we going to sell the jelly.
Finally, in 2005 we entered the jelly in some fairs. We first entered it into the Santa Barbara County Fair in Santa Maria, California, and then the following year 2006 we entered it into the Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles, California. Our jelly was awarded 1st Place and Best of Show at both fairs! We were so excited and thought maybe we really did have something that was really good and we should pursue producing this jelly commercially.
The trail to commercial production has come to fruition and now we can offer this fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Jelly – Vintage 2010 for your enjoyment. The Original Cowboy Ike’s Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Jelly is a dark beautiful color just like the Cabernet Sauvignon wine which was in a French oak barrel for one year before making the jelly.
Aside from the obvious places you would use this wine jelly it makes excellent peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, the best you’ve ever eaten! It’s great with cream cheese and crackers or with baked brie cheese as a hors d’oeuvre. It pares well with venison, duck and is great on baby back ribs as a barbeque sauce. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
